Food Waste Collection Service - Information

Lytham Town Council would like to share the following information about Fylde Council's food waste collection service.
We were privileged to have members of the team involved in this visit our council meeting on 9th September and explain in more detail to members of the public present and councillors about the service. More information on what was discussed can be read from our minutes found on Item 4 here
We would like to inform you that the food waste caddy deliveries will begin from wk. commencing 28 September – 9th October 2026 and will be distributed to over 10,500 households who are in the first phase. First collections will then begin the week of 12th October 2026 and the weekly food waste collections will take place on the same day as your usual wheeled bin collections.
Included in the caddy packs will be:
- 23l outdoor caddy
- 5l indoor caddy
- A roll of caddy liners
- 6-page information leaflet
- Postcard size information card with the date the first collections will take place
Tucked inside ten of those deliveries will be a golden ticket, each one unlocking a brilliant local prize - from a Fairhaven Lake adventure day out and a paddleboarding lesson to Lytham Hall tours, a padel tennis session for four at Ace Padel, vouchers for Beurre Patisserie and Ribby Hall, as well as a free garden waste bin subscription, resident parking permit, Marks & Spencer food hamper and afternoon tea for two at Staining Lodge.

- Kirkham
- Wesham
- Wrea Green
- Freckleton
- Lytham
- Ansdell
- St Annes
If the team have not been in touch regarding an engagement session or attending a Parish Meeting, we will be in contact over the next couple of months to advise of the next roll out areas and arrange a meeting/engagement session.
