Lytham Town Council Launches New Community Grant Scheme

10th of March, 2026

Lytham Town Council is delighted to announce the launch of its new Community Grant Scheme, designed to support volunteer-led and voluntary activities that make a real difference to our town.

The Council first shared the concept of this scheme at the recent Celebration of Volunteers in Lytham event in February, which highlighted the incredible contribution of local volunteers to the community. Now, having agreed it at the Council's meeting on 25th February 2026, the scheme is officially open for applications.

The grants are funded through the Council’s precept, meaning they come from public money. To ensure funds are used effectively, all applications will be carefully assessed with proper governance and due diligence, ensuring the Council supports projects that deliver genuine benefit to Lytham, its residents, local businesses, and visitors.

The scheme welcomes applications from eligible volunteer groups and community organisations. Applicants will need to demonstrate how the funding will create a measurable positive impact, whether through improving services, enhancing community facilities, supporting inclusion, or boosting local engagement.

To ensure that as many groups and activities can be supported as possible, only one application will be welcomed from each group in each Financial Year

Applications are available on the Council’s website and can be completed electronically as an MS Word document and may be found here

Once complete, applications and any supporting materials should be emailed directly to the Clerk at Clerk@lythamtowncouncil.gov.uk

Full details of the Scheme may be found on our website here

The Council encourages all eligible organisations to apply and looks forward to supporting initiatives that celebrate and strengthen Lytham’s vibrant communities and culture.
